Nationwide farmer protests have started with several hundred tractors at the start of the „Green Week“. Tractor drivers gathered on numerous federal highways for star trips to Berlin and other larger cities. Extensive campaigns by farmers are planned in Bavaria, Lower Saxony, Bremen, Baden-Württemberg, Berlin and Hesse.
The farmers‘ initiative „Land creates connection“ has called for protests. The farmers demonstrate for the interests of the agricultural companies and against what they consider to be harsh environmental protection regulations.

The farmers criticize, among other things, the planned tightening of the fertilizer regulation. The protest is directed against the German government’s agricultural package, which includes a state animal welfare label and an insect protection action program with restrictions on pesticide use. Agriculture should no longer be a cheaper raw material supplier to the food industry.
