Following the resignation of Boeing chief Dennis Muilenburg, his special advisor Michael Luttig also takes his hat in the wake of the debacle surrounding the 737 Max. The 65-year-old informed the company that it would retire at the end of the year, Boeing said yesterday (local time).

Lüttig had been Boeing’s chief lawyer since 2006. In May 2019, he was appointed legal advisor to Muilenburg and the group management in the 737-Max crisis to deal with the legal review of the plane crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia.

Boeing has a lot of legal trouble after the disasters, which killed a total of 346 people. The group is not only faced with lawsuits by relatives of the fatalities. It is determined whether everything was right with the 737 Max approval. Numerous lawsuits have been filed against the company.
