Former US intelligence officer Edward Snowden today publishes his memoirs. The book of the Russian exile informant entitled „Permanent Record: My Story“ is also available in Austrian bookstores.
The work is very personal and describes Snowden’s career and his motivations to unveil the massive surveillance practices of US intelligence agencies to their full extent.
After publishing thousands of secret documents, Snowden fled to Hong Kong via Hong Kong in 2013, where he has since lived. In interviews in recent days, he said that he would like to receive asylum in another country, such as Germany or France. He also agreed to return to the US if he was guaranteed a fair trial.
