The Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah has reportedly shot down an Israeli drone in southern Lebanon. The unmanned aerial vehicle was hit near a village, Hezbollah said today. The remains are now „in the hands of the Islamic resistance“.

Israel’s army sees „routine use“

An Israeli army spokeswoman in Tel Aviv confirmed that a military drone had fallen on Lebanese territory. That happened last night during a „routine mission in northern Israel“. There is no worry that information has been disclosed.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah had warned last week that any Israeli drone heading into Lebanese airspace would be attacked.

The situation on Israel’s border with Lebanon was already dangerously escalating at the beginning of the month. Hezbollah fired in retaliation for the death of two fighters in Syria on an Israeli military vehicle. However, Israel denied Hezbollah’s information that it had sacrificed. The Israeli army responded with heavy artillery fire.
