The average purchase price for a square meter of living space in Paris has risen to more than 10,000 euros for the first time this summer. As the city announced today, this indication refers to old buildings.
The notaries determined the price from preliminary contracts, which allow a first impression of the market situation. It included information from the French statistical office INSEE. According to the figures, prices will continue to rise, with an average of 10,280 euros per square meter expected by the end of October. Ten years ago, the Parisian square meter was still sold for about 6,000 euros, according to notaries.
But it’s not just housing prices in the city that are high: According to a study by the British market research firm Economist Intelligence Unit, Paris has the highest rents and cost of living worldwide, in addition to Singapore and Hong Kong.
