Washington State Governor Jay Inslee has announced his withdrawal from the Democratic presidential race for 2020. He obviously has no chance against the internal party competition, admitted Inslee last night (local time) in an interview with the television channel MSNBC.
He will, however, continue to voice his concern that he will fight for more climate protection – and to measure the other presidential candidates by their attitude.
Before Inslee had previously given the former Governor of the State of Colorado, John Hickenlooper, and the California MP Eric Swalwell.
Even without them, there are still about 20 Democratic presidential candidates: The former US Vice President Joe Biden still leads the field according to surveys, followed by Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris.
In the coming weeks, the candidate field of the Democrats is likely to shrink significantly, as there are difficult candidates and candidates without high profile.
