The death toll from typhoon „Lekima“ in China has risen to at least 43. In addition, 17 people were missing, as Chinese state media reported today. „Lekima“, which reached the east coast of China on Saturday with heavy rains, high waves and gusts of wind, and moved further north, ravaged the following day in Shandong province, where five people died.
In Zhejiang Province, 38 people have been killed since Saturday. Most of the victims were in Yantan village, after a landslide triggered by heavy rain had dammed a river, creating an artificial lake whose waters eventually blew people away.
