The 1980s movie hit „The Prince of Zamunda“ is set to continue after more than 30 years with Hollywood stars Eddie Murphy (58) and Wesley Snipes (57).
Snipes is the latest addition to the cast of the project with the English title „Coming 2 America,“ as the US industry papers „Hollywood Reporter“ and Deadline.com reported yesterday. Director Craig Brewer („Hustle & Flow“) wants to start filming the comedy this fall, they say.
In „The Prince of Zamunda“ (original title „Coming to America“) Murphy played in 1988 a prince from the fictional African kingdom of Zamunda on marriage ceremony in New York.
The director was John Landis („Blues Brothers“). In the sequel, Prince Akeem is scheduled to return to the US to track down a long-lost son. Arsenio Hall (63) is once again in the role of Akeem’s best friend on board. „Blade“ star Snipes is to play as a new character a general who ruled a neighboring state in Africa.
