US President Donald Trump has rejected sanctions for Apple components from China. The corporation will not receive exemption or a discount on the punitive tariffs for Chinese components for the Mac Pro computer, Trump wrote yesterday via Twitter.
Apple had applied to the US Trade Representative last week for exemption from customs duties. Certain components for the new Mac Pro, according to the Group can only be imported from China.
Trump reiterated his claim to journalists that Apple should simply relocate production to the United States. „When I heard that they want to build in China, I said: If you send your product to the US, we will pay you customs duties,“ the US President told journalists.
He also expressed appreciative of Apple CEO Tim Cook. Cook is a person he has much affection and respect for, Trump said. „We’ll fix it,“ he added, looking at the penalty. „I think they’re announcing that they’re going to build a factory in Texas. If they do, I will be very happy. „
