China wants to introduce anti-dumping duties on several stainless steel products from the European Union, Japan, South Korea and Indonesia.

The tariffs would be increased to 18.1 to 103.1 percent, said the Ministry of Commerce on Monday in Beijing. The new regulation should apply from tomorrow. Affected are stainless steel bolts and hot rolled stainless steel sheets.

China launched an anti-dumping investigation a year ago after prices for stainless steel fell sharply in the country. The People’s Republic produces and consumes almost half of the world’s stainless steel.
