Barack Obama said podcasts would provide an „incredible opportunity to promote productive dialogue, make people smile and think, and hopefully bring us a little bit closer to each other.“ Michelle Obama said the podcasts should make voices heard that would all too often be ignored or even silenced.
Also contract with Netflix
The well-known for his music lists Spotify streaming service now also offers podcasts and wants to expand the business. In February, the online company bought $ 230 million from respected podcast producer Gimlet Media.
The Obamas, in turn, founded their production company in 2018. Among other things, Higher Ground has signed an exclusive contract with Netflix for the production of films, series and documentary films.
