
According to a newspaper report, Google is seeking permission from the US government to stay in business with the Chinese Huawei Corporation. It is mainly about being able to provide Huawei smartphones with the Google Android operating system, wrote the „Financial Times“ today.
The Internet company argues that an end to the cooperation would be bad for the safety of users, it was said relying on persons familiar with the talks.
In mid-May, the US placed Huawei on a blacklist of companies whose business dealings with US partners are tightly controlled. Anyone who wants to sell or transfer US technology to Huawei has to acquire a license. This can be denied if security interests are affected.
