In the dispute over the design rights of the Porsche 911, the automaker failed with its lawsuit in the European Union court in Luxembourg. The designs (as the self-designation), which protect the design of the vehicle were rightly deleted because they did not differ enough from previous versions, judges ruled today.

The model car manufacturer Autec from the German Nuremberg had the pattern of two variants of the 911er delete – Porsche had sued. The design rights to the VW models Caddy and T5, on which the court also had to decide remain, however, exist. Here the model manufacturer Rietze wanted to achieve the deletion. His action failed, however.

The parties can still appeal the decision to the European Court of Justice (ECJ). You would have to apply for their approval beforehand.
