Millions of voters in Germany today have to make several electoral decisions: in addition to the European elections and the election to Bremen citizenship in the city state and nine other federal states are also local elections.

In Saxony, Brandenburg and Thuringia, the election of city councilors, district councilors and mayors is also an important test of sentiment before the state elections in late summer and autumn. The AfD can expect significant gains.

At the municipal level, elections are also held in Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, Saxony-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Hamburg, Saarland and Bremen. In the city state, voters can vote in a total of three elections.

While the CDU dominated the past local elections and is currently in all ten counties, the district administrator, they now threatened losses.
