The US special investigator Robert Mueller has found in his investigation, according to recent findings, no evidence of a conspiracy of the election campaign team of President Donald Trump with Russia. This is clear from a summary presented by the Ministry of Justice to the Congress.

However, Mueller did not specify in the summary whether Trump has obstructed the judiciary. Instead, the Special Investigator pointed out that both could be possible. The report does not come to the conclusion that the president has committed a crime, but he does not relieve him, according to the summary.
The White House interprets Mueller’s findings differently: „The Special Representative found no collusion and no hindrance (the judiciary).“ Justice Secretary William Barr would have stated that as well.
Trump himself considers himself completely relieved, as he wrote on Twitter. According to the report, there had been „no collusion with Russia“ and „no disability“. Trump described the investigation as „illegal downing that failed“. Also in a statement by Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump Jr. was said Mueller’s results proved that there was „zero collusion with Russia“.

Senate Judiciary Committee chair Lindsey Graham, an ally of Trump’s, said it was „a bad day for those who hoped the Mueller investigation would topple President Trump.“ The cloud that hung over Trump had been removed by Mueller’s report.

Mueller had handed the report to Barr on Friday. He passed on a summary to members of the congress. It is unclear how much of the whole report will be published and when it will happen.

Democrats call for full publication of the report

Leading Democrats demanded the publication of the full report of the Special Investigator. Justice Secretary William Barr’s summary raises more questions than they provide answers, said Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic House Chair, and Senate Democratic faction leader Chuck Schumer.
They pointed out that Mueller had not relieved President Donald Trump of the alleged disability. Therefore, the full report and the underlying documents should be published immediately. Moreover, Barr is not a neutral observer in view of his „prejudice against the investigation“ and „not in a position to make objective decisions“.
Jerrold Nadler, chairman of the Judiciary Committee, also asked Barr to publish all the facts. „The Special Representative Mueller has clearly and expressly not relieved the President,“ Nadler wrote on Twitter. At the same time, the Democrat wrote „in view of the very disturbing discrepancies“, he would call on the Minister of Justice in the near future to testify before the Judiciary Committee. Democratic Senator Cory Booker said that the public deserves „the full report and the results,“ „not just the in-house summary of a member of the Trump administration.“
Mueller has since 2017 suspected Russia’s interference in the 2016 election campaign and possible ties to Donald Trump’s campaign staff. Russia has rejected the allegations, as has Trump, who has repeatedly criticized the investigation as a „witch hunt“.

The summary said that 19 lawyers worked with about 40 FBI agents, intelligence agents and other experts to investigate. Mueller reported more than 2,800 subpoenas and had nearly 500 search warrants executed.
