The Chinese technology group blames the US government severely

The Chinese telecommunications company Huawei sued the US because US government agencies are not allowed to buy equipment from the group. Company chief Guo Ping also accused the US of hacking Huawei servers and stealing e-mails and source code. At first Guo did not comment on these allegations.

Regarding the US authorities‘ ban on resorting to Chinese company equipment or services, Huawei said the US Congress had not produced any evidence to justify such a move. Huawei therefore sees no alternative but to take legal action. A law signed by US President Donald Trump last year for security concerns is „not only unlawful, but also prevents Huawei from engaging in fair competition,“ Guo Ping said. The lawsuit was filed with the US District Court in Plano, Texas.

Huawei is one of the world’s leading telecommunications equipment providers, including for the construction of 5G mobile networks. However, the US fears espionage and sabotage by Huawei. Especially at the instigation of the government in Washington, several countries have recently classified Huawei as a potential threat to cybersecurity. In Germany, too, with regard to the frequency auction for 5G on the correct handling of Huawei discussed.
