Thousands of Santas met in Turin for the ninth time to collect donations. Christmas is a magical moment, but one should also think of those who are in trouble, according to the mayor of Turin.
Thousands of Santas gathered in Torino on Sunday for a fundraiser. The men and women in red Santa Claus costumes and white beards came together in the northern Italian city to raise money for a children’s hospital. The action took place for the ninth time. According to the organizers, 20,000 people participated – a record.
„It’s an extraordinary sight,“ Turin’s Mayor Chiara Appendino told Italian media. „Christmas is a magical moment and a celebration, but it’s also the time to think of those in trouble.“ Donations go to Regina Margherita Hospital.
